Frequently Asked Questions

This is a list of the questions we hear most often when dealing with both domestic and commercial projects. If you can’t find the answer you require, please get in touch and we will be happy to deal with your enquiry.

Can I have doors and windows?2017-06-30T16:12:35+00:00

We can provide side panels, windows and doors as extras, depending on the type of canopy you choose and what it will be used for. One of our technical sales team will go through this with you at the quotation stage.

What is the maximum projection for a carport or patio canopy?2017-06-30T16:10:27+00:00

It depends on the style of canopy. The options for each structure are in the brochure.

Do you provide a maintenance service?2017-06-30T15:42:15+00:00

We issue aftercare instructions with all of our canopies so that you can carry out basic checks and cleaning tasks, but we are happy to talk to you about our maintenance plan. Start with a simple clean and structural check or choose a more detailed plan to manage wear and tear in a heavy industrial setting.

What should I clean my canopy with?2017-06-30T15:42:33+00:00

On canopy with a plastic glazing, nothing more than warm soapy water should be used.

How often should I clean my canopy?2017-06-30T15:42:38+00:00

There are no set guidelines. Conditions at the site will have an effect. Trees sap and local wildlife can be reasons that you might need to clean regularly, as will coastal or heavy industrial areas.

What colours do the carports and patio canopies come in?2017-06-30T16:10:22+00:00

All of our canopies come in white as standard, but we are able to provide a coloured, powder coating in line with standard Ral colour as an optional extra.

Can I install my own carport or canopy?2017-06-30T16:10:58+00:00

Yes. We are happy to offer a supply only service, will only offer a warranty based on the component parts of the structure, not the installation.

Have you installed any canopies in my local area that I can go and look at?2017-06-30T16:01:58+00:00

This depends where you are based, but very often the answer is yes and we can contact a client to see if they are happy for you to visit.

Are your installation team DBS checked?2017-06-30T16:11:25+00:00

The need for DBS checks generally only arises on a large project, at a sensitive venue such as a school. When this is required we ensure the all operatives on site have the right checks in place.

How will the canopy stand up to strong winds and snow?2017-06-30T16:02:39+00:00

We carry out snow loading and wind calculations based on the postcode of each site. In addition, all of the structures are designed to conform to the relevant safety standards when installed correctly.

Can you provide groundwork to fit my canopy?2017-06-30T16:13:09+00:00

Yes. We offer a full range of groundworks including paving etc.

Can we pay in instalments?2024-06-26T09:27:12+00:00

We currently require a deposit at the time of order, followed by the final balance – either when the structure is delivered (supply only basis) or when it is successfully installed. For commercial projects we can look at credit facilities but this will need to be discussed on a project by project basis.

Is installation included in the price?2017-06-30T16:13:15+00:00

We itemise installation separately on your quotations so that you have full knowledge of how the price breaks down. This is especially valuable if your site is a distance away from us and a local builder can install your structure at a more competitive rate due to travel costs.

How long is the process to installation date?2017-06-30T16:11:17+00:00

A simple, polycarbonate, wall mounted canopy, local to us and no more than 8metres long will usually take our team a single day to complete. This can depend on the groundworks or other preparatory work. We always provide our best estimate at the time of quotation.

Why do I need a site survey at my house?2017-06-30T16:13:22+00:00

Our site surveys are required to measure up appropriately before putting the product into production. This also allows us to identify any potential issues that will prevent or complicate installation. Numerous years of experience mean that sometimes we see something that you haven’t considered.

Do I need planning permission?2017-06-30T16:04:18+00:00

There is no definitive answer to this, as all local authorities work differently. Our advice is that it is best to check with the planning department. It is fairly inexpensive to approach your local authority for an agreement in principle. Being prepared at this early stage will prevent you from having the product delivered and installed, before discovering that you can’t keep the structure in place.

How long is the warranty?2017-06-30T16:13:36+00:00

There is a 10 year warranty on our structures, but we expect them to have a lifespan of up to 25 years if kept in accordance with our aftercare guidelines.

Will I receive a guarantee with my purchase?2017-06-30T16:13:39+00:00

There is a 10 year guarantee on our structures, but we expect them to have a lifespan of up to 25 years if kept in accordance with our aftercare guidelines. We cannot guarantee the installation if you purchase from us on a supply only basis.

How much do canopies cost?2017-06-30T16:15:34+00:00

This depends on a number of key factors such as style, glazing option, size and location. We always look to provide a fair starting price based on the information you give us, and then firm this up if your budget meets our cost and you wish to proceed.

What are the delivery timescales?2017-06-30T16:15:32+00:00

This depends on the size of the project, necessary groundwork, and method of installation, colour, and the size of the canopy. All of the above make it difficult to give a firm timescale, but more often than not it is no more than 3 weeks.

Can you fit my canopy or carport?2017-06-30T16:16:04+00:00

Yes we offer a full supply and installation service.

What material are the frames made from?2017-06-30T16:16:01+00:00

In the vast majority of cases our domestic canopies are manufactured from high strength powder coated aluminium alloy that is aesthetically pleasing and will not rust. Industrial shelters and commercial use canopies may sometimes require the use of steel sections. These are galvanized and powder coated to help protect them from the elements.

Is the roofing material glass?2017-06-30T16:15:58+00:00

We offer our clients the widest choice of glazing possible. Glass is one option, and as standard our glass canopies are glazed with 6mm toughened safety glass. We can also provide options for self-cleaning glass as an extra.
